What is the Evening Star?

The Evening Star is a multiple candlestick chart pattern that consists of three candlesticks.

This candlestick pattern indicates that a bearish reversal is taking place after the end of an uptrend.

The Evening Star Pattern

The Evening Star consists of three candlesticks that indicate a bearish reversal. The first candlestick is a bullish candle and indicates the continuation of an uptrend.

The second candlestick is found completely outside the body of the first and third candlesticks. This candle is a Doji which indicates that it is uncertain about its market direction.

The third candlestick is a bearish candlestick and indicates that a bearish reversal is taking place.
